Meet Eric

Born in Menomonie and raised in Western Wisconsin as the youngest of six children, Eric understands the values of hard work, family, and community that define our district. His deep roots, spanning five generations dating back to the 1850s, have fostered a genuine connection to the needs and aspirations of our community. Wilson comes from a big family of teachers, coaches, small business owners, and manufacturing workers.

Eric is committed to fighting for the issues that matter most to our community. He will advocate for affordable housing, accessible health care, quality education, economic growth, sustainable farming practices, and policies that uplift and empower all residents.

His father, Lon Wilson, was a longtime high school chemistry teacher, union member, and basketball coach in Bloomer, who was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2009, and his mother works in health care and previously has served on the school board. He lives in Eau Claire with his three Goldendoodles, Winston, Freja, and Blu.

He was raised with a deep appreciation for the importance of education. These values continue to shape his commitment to improving the lives of others and driving positive change.

I’m running for State Treasurer because every dollar matters and every community matters. I studied economics at UW–Madison to understand how systems shape people’s lives, and I worked in mortgages to help families achieve homeownership. I’ve spent my career building practical solutions, managing budgets, and bringing people together to get results.

Wisconsin roots & service – I’ve worked with local organizations and neighbors to solve problems close to home — from improving services to simplifying how people access them. I believe this office should be a bridge between state resources and everyday families.

Mortgage experience – Buying a home is the biggest financial step most families take. I’ve sat across the table, explained the numbers, and found a path that fits the budget. That’s why I’ll champion tools that help renters become owners and build generational wealth.

Project manager mindset – I’ve led teams, integrated complex systems, and made technology work for people. As Treasurer, that means modernizing services, reducing friction, and measuring everything against one goal: does this help Wisconsinites?
